Csound Seminar - Special Topics Introduction to Csound

Fall 2000

Midterm Examination Project:

Additive and Subtractive Synthesis

This project requires you to create scores for two orchestras as outlined below.  Each pair of .orc and .sco files should be electronically delivered to me for evaluation by December 15, 1999 at noon, via the email address: musrst@panther.gsu.edu.

1. Using the orchestra 4instr.orc, create a score file called 4instr.sco which is based on the file 4insexp.sco.  Copy 4insexp.sco and use it as a template but using what ever methods you deem interesting (such as a time-point analog score) create a new musical expression using the four instruments of the orchestra which is exactly 60 seconds long.

2. Using the orchestra lnoiz.orc, create a score file called lnoiz.sco which is based on the file lnoizexp.sco.  Copy lnoizexp.sco and use it as a template but using what ever methods you deem interesting (such as a time-point analog score) create a new musical expression using this instrument which is exactly 60 seconds long.

Extra Credit: Extra credit (and extra learning) can be obtained by the following means:

Importantly, have fun with it!
