Technical Listening
When engineers listen from a technical perspective, judgments concerning the success of the recording, the methods used to create it and the end result are made from a purely objective point of view. It is important not to let "feelings" about the music interfere with making objective assertions about the recording. It is the "recording" we are listening to and not the "music." Therefore we may be interested in aspects such as:

quality of sound - timbre, detail, liveliness, texture and so on...

ratio of sound to noise (signal to noise ratio) in the recording

absence of ticks, pops, dropouts, glitches

balance between elements heard in the mix

appropriateness of the mix and sound treatments (signal processing, such as reverb, equalization or echo)

level of technical finesse displayed by the engineer - Technical X-factors

A good exercise it to make your own list of technical aspects that YOU think are important!
