OVERVIEW

This page is dedicated to the Composition Seminar (known ignominiously at Georgia State University as Composition Laboratory) which is focussed on "Electric Music." Over the past few years I have offered the following Seminars: Notation, (John)Cage and (Inter)Connections and Psychoacoustics. Electric Music is the first of a new series of Seminars.

The title of the Seminar is taken from a new book by Joel Chadabe, a pioneering composer, President of the Electronic Music Foundation (perhaps the most important new force for Electric Music in the world) and a gifted educator. This text is a must-have book for those of us who are passionate about Electric Music in all of its various forms. It is largely historiographic and contains facts and details about the field that have never before been collected within one volume.

I invite submissions to these pages on an ongoing basis. If you are interested in submitting something please send an email with a description of your idea - if possible, send the contents for review.

These pages are under construction and they will be changing at a brisk pace. Please check back often to witness their evolution.
