The human voice is a rich
source for sound transformation and artists have developed numerous
idiosyncratic ways of dealing with the voice, and text, as raw materials for
sound art. The second SoundScape
collection features works that include text, vocalizations, proto-language and
their transformations.
Like each of the
SoundScapes, this set includes works specifically selected for presentation by
Roger Reynolds, Joji Yuasa, Trevor Wishart, Paul Lansky, Karlheinz Stockhausen
and Luciano Berio. Other works in the set
are drawn from the numerous submissions to the Pulse Field project from
around the world and include works by Paul Rudy, Christian Calon, Brian Belet
and others.
